Nutritional value of some commercial marine fishes

 The study included a comparability of the chemical composition and nutritional value four economical fishes species from Iraqi coastal waters in northwestern Arabian gulf: including Tenualosa ilisha, Acanthobagrus arabicus, Otoliths ruber, Planiliza subviridis. Samples were brought local markets Basra governance-southern Iraq. Results show that moisture fish`s muscles was recorded 69.15 ± 0.91% to 76.83 0.15%, protein 16.93 0.15 19.56 0.83%, fat content 1.64 0.22 9.92 0.51%, ash 1.81 0.12 4.08 0.08%. statistical analysis shows there significant differences (p < 0.05) between some ratios above. energy 112.435 194.835 Kcal/ 100 g. findings this demonstrate fish found marine serve as primary source fat. This information can be useful consumers, highlighting benefits consuming rich high-quality food content. Specifically, Al-Nuweibi ruber should periodically considered due its high proportion animal protein, which aid growth muscle development.
